For developers hosting WordPress sites outside of WiscWeb, we offer the new UW Theme—a modern, standards-compliant, and UW branded WordPress theme. The Office of Strategic Communication recommends using the UW Theme for most UW–Madison websites. The previous version, UW Theme Classic, is still available but no longer recommended for new projects. Visit Migrate to 2.0 to learn more about the transition.
For websites that require customization beyond the standard UW Theme, it is the responsibility of the unit that develops the custom design to maintain it from that point forward, and to ensure continued compliance with minimum web standards.
