University Marketing offers visual graphics that embody the UW–Madison brand and provide a sense of fun and vibrancy to marketing materials.
These elements, textures, icons, and illustrations should be used moderately and for distinct audiences, primarily prospective and current students. Remember: less is often more. Keep In mind the message of the piece and its legibility when considering these graphics.
Elements
The brand elements are available for download as Adobe Illustrator files.
The mini bar can be used to clearly separate sections of copy or design. The container can be used to separate or call attention to certain lines of content (headlines, pull quotes, etc.). The wave can be used to enhance borders and the edges of pages. The dash line can be used small or large to serve as a border or add visual background interest. The dash circle—similar in look to the dash line—can be used to accentuate callouts. The sketches can be used to highlight or accent text or photos. Textures
The brand textures are available for download as Adobe Illustrator files.
The geometric and ripple patterns, available in several colors and variations, can be used as captivating backgrounds and recurring design elements. See the inspiration grid at the bottom of the page for some recommended applications of the textures.
Icons & Illustrations
The brand icons and illustrations are available for download as Adobe Illustrator files.
These single-color icons and illustrations can be used to accompany stats, rankings, and lists of information, or as standalone design elements. They capture places and symbols unique to UW–Madison, as well as the general education landscape. See the inspiration grid below for some recommended applications of the icons and illustrations.
